The Girl Who Loved Caravaggio by Belle Ami was a thrilling and enjoyable read! It was a page-turner that combined aspects of a historical thriller, a paranormal adventure novel, and a cultured love story! Well-written and fast-paced, Belle Ami did not disappoint in the sequel!

Angela Renatus, an art historian, has a genuinely suspenseful adventure across many lifetimes with her private detective fiancé, Alex Caine. Founded on their previous success in finding stolen art, they are enlisted by the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy, to find a missing piece of art. They are not seeking just any piece of art, but diving into one of the greatest art heists of their age. The masterpiece they are on the hunt for is the Nativity by Caravaggio. As Angela and Alex continue on their quest to find the Nativity, they encounter lifetimes worth of secrets, danger, beauty, and love. The thriller goes beyond the hunt for a piece of art. It is a thriller love story that quite literally spans across time!

I liked most how the author balanced the character development of Alex and Anglea as well as all of the individuals they encounter along their adventure. Belle Ami did a seamless job of integrating those characters into the plot in a twisting manner, which made this a real page-turner. Also, I loved the exquisite detail about the art, the food, and the scenery of Angela and Alex's adventure! Angela's visions add another dimension to the story as these visions carry the reader between the present day and various time-periods. The subtle erotica in Angela and Alex's relationship spans across the time-periods creating a divine connection that descriptively weaves through the adventure. I felt I was a part of the story with Belle Ami's vivid descriptions. What I disliked most was that the book was over too soon!

I believe that this book could be enjoyable for a broad audience, including those who enjoy mystery thrillers, culture, travel, and art, as well as love stories! The book balances moments of intimacy and real aspects of the human condition with adventure, danger, and suspense. Through the adventure, Belle Ami weaves many stories into one, which makes this so accessible for a broad audience! Most importantly, this book keeps you intrigued and interested in what is to come next! The best part, sometimes, what you expect is not what you get, reigniting the curiosity of Angela and Alex's adventure all over again.

I rate this book four out of four stars! I believe that this deserves four stars because of the author's well-paced character development, the adventurous plot, the suspense and surprises that you don't see coming, and also the delicacy of the love story! The Girl Who Loved Caravaggio is a splendid thriller novel full of twists and turns! It is worth the read, maybe even twice!
