Review by Radhika_puri -- The Dark Web Murders
[Following is a volunteer review of "The Dark Web Murders" by Brian O'Hare.]
The book, The Dark Web Murders, written by Brian O’ Hare is the fourth book in the series of The Inspector Sheehan Mysteries. The book is a murder mystery. The book starts with the murder of Judge Neeson. Chief Inspector Jim Sheehan with his team is trying to solve this murder mystery. While doing, so they came across different people and find about their involvement in a club where Human Trafficking, sex abuse, Rapes are done. As the book continues four murders happen and all have the same pattern. The book follows the investigation and interrogation done by the officers While doing the investigation, Sergeant Denise Stewart came across a blog on Dark web. The blog is of a person named Nemein. He posted about all the murders in detail.
Officers got a clue from there about who can be the Murderer. By the end of the book, all the questions are answered about the murders and who was responsible for them and why he was doing all this. The suspense is maintained until the very end of the book.
The author did a considerable job while writing the book. At the beginning of the book Brian O’ Hare gave Glossary of North Ireland Police terms and Introductory Information about the characters in the book that was a great help while reading the book. He divided the book into thirty nine chapters according to time.
He gave a deep description of the places, things, rooms included in the book. He did a great job with the speaking style of characters. If someone had a problem pronouncing something, he made it clear while writing as Doran pronounced that as thash. I think this brought the book to life. The detailed discussion of the cases and the minor change in behavior of characters are written in detail and help to visualize the whole thing.
The author wrote the book in a deep detail, I liked this the most about the book as it helped me to understand it better. I didn't dislike anything about the book, but if I had to say I don't like that the book doesn't have been numbered. It's difficult to keep the track of pages. I find a few spelling mistakes while reading. I have not come across any errors in the book other than in dialogues.
I would like to give it four out of four stars. I didn't give it three stars as it is well-written and the storyline is appealing. I have enjoyed the book very much. I want to recommend this book to mystery lovers. I think this book is unsuitable for minors as it deals with violence and some more sensitive topics.
