Having read one of the books in this series before now, I think R.F. Kristi should make these books into animated movies. Children would love these stories and also learn from them. Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula is the eighth book in the Inca Cat Detective Series.

Missy has been selected to be one of the judges in a cooking competition to be held in South Korea. She has also been invited to present her special cheese called La Crème de la Crème during this great event. The event was organized as a means of fostering peace between North and South Korea. As a very successful chef, Missy wasn’t without an enemy who wants to see her fail by all means.

Being in a new country never stops Inca and friends from seeking new adventures, they have been to different continents of the world, and South Korea shouldn’t be any different. As usual, Inca and friends need to help Ye-Jun, their Korean tour guide in finding his sister and her pretty Korean cat, Bo-Mi. They also have to make sure that Missy presents her cheese without her enemy succeeding in ruining her chance to be honored.

I didn’t notice Inca’s resume when I read the other book in the series, but when I read it in this book, it was funny that Inca has got a more impressive resume than I’ve got. Let me give you a bit of it, “Inca is a super-duper cat, heads a detective agency and has handled detective missions in different continents.” Isn’t that awesome for a cat?!

I think I have fallen in love with this author. Her writing style is very simple, engaging and humorous at the same time. I always look out for what to learn whenever I read children's books because I believe children should learn from stories. The book taught children to always look for ways to be of help to others and be willing to make sacrifices for others to be happy. They would also learn about new places and facts such as the Korean DMZ.

I was skeptical about some of the adventures of Inca and friends. For instance, Inca and friends went off at night in search of a solution to a problem. I just hope that it doesn’t give children the idea that they can also go off on their own at night. There was nothing I disliked about the book. I must also commend the illustrations in the book. They were beautiful. I found no typographical errors and no grammatical errors. The book was also professionally edited.

I would rate Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula four out of four stars due to the reasons I mentioned above. There were no profanities or sexual scenes. So, I recommend this book to children from age four and above and young adults who love adventures.
