[Following is a volunteer review of "Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula" by R.F. Kristi.]
Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi is one of the books in the Diary of a Snoopy Cat - The Inca Cat Detective Series. The book is about Inca and her detective friends who came to Korea with their human family for a cooking competition. When they arrived in Korea, they found out that their cheese bag had gone. So, where was the cheese, and who took it? Could Inca and her lovely friends answer those questions?
It is pretty easy for any of us to see the author’s intentions in this book. I love how she carefully put all the big lessons we want to teach kids in lovely illustrations and stories. The book teaches kids about loving animals, building peace, being a good friend, and loving each other.
What I love most about this book is how well it teaches kids to love animals. As a real animal lover, I appreciate this more than anything else. Many parents think they need to teach kids how to do Math, write, and read first, but for me, teaching kids to love not humans but also other sentient beings will be one of the best gifts they can give to their kids. When they grow up, even when things get hard in their lives, genuine love will guide them back to peace and help them to overcome difficulties easier.
There was nothing I dislike about this book. The illustrations were so cute and were made professionally. The writing was professional, and I could not find any mistakes. In my opinion, the language in this book was simple for kids to understand and good enough to build up their writing skills.
I cannot rate Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula anything less than 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend this book to anyone who has children around seven to twelve years old. It will be a gift for them.
