Last Words From Above: Medicine for the spirit by Jeremy Brown is a book with 2001 inspiring quotes. The author starts with an introduction and a prologue in which he discusses the reasons that led him to compose this series of quotes. He often refers to the “still, small voice” that provoked him to wake up at 3 am in the morning and record whatever he heard in his journal. He then takes the readers on a short journey through his past and enumerates the reasons that drove him to write his previous books.

The author narrates how the current book is the last book in a journey that he started a long time ago, hence the name: Last Words From Above. The author also expresses how his aim in life is to be a good listener and to listen to what God has to say to him.

The intricately woven chain of quotes is at the heart of this book. These quotes are very deep, thought-provoking, and inspiring to read. They are what made me like the book so much. Some quotes relate perfectly well with our daily lives such as: “True transformation is a journey of liberation. You begin to feel light and free because you are releasing a lot of the unnecessary weight”. While some quotes are replete with such motivation that it sends tremors down to your very core and shakes you from your stupor, such as: “Doing something that isn’t fulfilling, with most of your time and energy, while never making time for your purpose, which will fulfill you, is very dangerous”.

These quotes force the readers to ponder upon their day-to-day life activities and analyze why they are doing what they are doing and whether it’s making them happy or sad. The quotes themselves instill a sense of vigor into the readers so that they are forced into action and are driven to achieve their goals and objectives in life.

Another thing that I liked about the book was that all of the quotes were numbered. This makes it easy for the readers to tread through the book and revert to a specific quote that they liked if they wanted to in the future.

Moreover, even though the book is founded on Christian beliefs there is something of value tucked within the pages of this book for every reader to extrapolate, whether Christian or non-Christian.

To conclude, I am happy to give Last Words From Above: Medicine for the spirit by Jeremy Brown four out of four stars for its wonderful quotes and the feelings of motivation and inspiration that they incite within a reader. In addition, the book seems to have been professionally edited as I could spot no typos or grammatical errors that may have ruined the reading experience. I would recommend this book to everyone who feels demoralized and wants to be shaken and woken up. Give this book a try and you won’t be disappointed!

Ponderous quotes really are essential especially at these times. Even though some of the quotes do not accurately applicable to you, it's still nice to increase our wisdom towards better understanding life. Nice review!

I found this book to be very encouraging. One of my favorite quotes is number 1780: “There is a place in which we will move to the beat of the drum in our heart and begin accomplishing all that we were designed to.”
Thank you for your thoughtful review.
