How to Beat the Dream Stealers by David Mendenhall centers around Dream Stealers. It gives a schematic overview of who or what they are, as well as how to beat them. The book was equally filled with a good number of positive quotes which are very helpful. The book highlights steps and measures to take in order to effectively beat the dream stealers and achieve a laid down goal.

This was a book I truly did not think I would enjoy. I however was pleasantly disappointed, as I did enjoy it.  David Mendenhall's How to Beat the Dream Stealers has left an indelible effect on me, and that is exactly what I like about the book. It forces you to think and reflect back on your life, to pinpoint areas in your life you need to make changes on. There are a lot of positive points to take from the book; “The effects of negative thinking through frustration and failure-coming from our minds-are the dream stealers that are the boldest and most unrelenting”, ”One failure does not determine who you are forever” - to mention a few. The book was practical, as it had applications at the end of each chapter. These applications had unanswered questions the readers were to answer in order to evaluate themselves, as well as actions to take, which were in line with what the chapter had centered on. The book is available in a printed copy, as well as an electronic copy, making it easy for readers to purchase whichever book suits their taste.

I especially like that it highlighted the importance of breaking free from your comfort zone because truly, nothing extraordinary ever happens there. The book talks about the ways Dream Stealers present themselves- society, family and friends, media, or you, and the need to beat them. I liked that David Mendenhall used practical examples to further explain most of his points- it gave the book fluidity, as it was very easy to comprehend. I found the book concise and well put, giving adequate information on just about everything you would need to know to beat dream stealers.

I did not find anything I truly disliked about the book. It came off as expertly edited. I did not notice any error in spelling, grammar, or sentence structure, nor did I notice the use of vulgar and profane language throughout the book.

From a holistic standpoint, I would rate the book 4 out of 4 stars, because it was well written and easy to comprehend. I find that this book could be in the category of books that would appeal to just anyone. Be that as it may, I still think it would appeal most to people looking to achieve laid down goals, start a business, or venture into something new. It would provide, a boost as well as pointers to navigate through obstacles they meet.

The title should be weird, sounds like a book about star gazing or so stuff. But your review paints it more of a motivational book. Nice review!

This book seems really appealing to read because it talks about how to beat dream stealers and also tells us who and what dream stealers are.
