[Following is a volunteer review of "Guardian of Deceit" by William H. Coles.]
Guardian of Deciet by William H. Coles is an eye catching story. It kept me wanting to know more the whole time I was reading it. I will rate this a 4 out of 4 stars. This is the best book I’ve read in a while. It looks professionally edited and has a good pull for the reader to stay interested.
I like how the book flows so well like a movie being watched. Some books are hard to stay interested in. I enjoyed the characters in the story and the story line. I think it was a nice change to read about a football players life, and his new responsibility as a father figure. It’s a different kind of story compared to others I am used to reading. I don’t like how one main character was abusive and selfish, but there has to be certain types to keep the story good.
I think this book is suitable for readers age eighteen and older, male or female. It is somewhat inspiring in the beginning about how life can be hard, but change for the better. I didn't find any erotic scenes in this book. However, there are a number of curse words starting on page 54, the word b*tches.
Darwin is a young man, soon to be an adult, who has had his life turn upside down in a heartbeat. His two loving parents died years ago. He has had to live with his sweet aunt, who now suffers from losing a limb due to diabetes. Know he is forced to live with his cousin who is a wealthy and famous football player. At first things are rocky, he is robbed of his rightful inheritance and forced to work for it like an employee of this house. Meanwhile, his cousins fiancee becomes quite close to him as friends. Looking for more friendships and a way to define himself in life, he grows close to everyone around him while making a path for his future.
I think this author does excellent work. I look forward to finding more books written by him. It's interesting to me how many authors kind of have their own style rather than going with the theme of others. I like that about books. I'm not a big football fan, but I do like hearing about celebrity lives a little bit. That's what made this book eye catching to me even though it is fantasy.
