[Following is a volunteer review of "Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat" by R.F. Kristi.]
The animal kingdom seems very different from ours, mainly because we can’t understand what they say or why they act in specific ways. What if their world isn’t different from ours? Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F Kristi gives readers a tour into the world of a cat called Inca, who fancies herself a detective and solves several crimes. In this sequel, Inca attempts to help solve a crime in Sri Lanka. Will she come through yet again and help solve this crime?
I enjoyed reading this book because the author made an effort to take readers on a wild ride into the life of Inca on her adventure in a different country. Fantastic graphical representations were used a lot in this book. While reading, the author took me back to when I was a child and how much I loved storybooks with lots of colorful pictures. The character development was so precise and accurate. My nephew was so fascinated by Inca's personality and leadership spirit.
I love that the book didn’t portray cats as snobs or unfriendly, as they were able to make friends with other animals. The author must have an excellent relationship with pets to be able to write such an incredible story. The book isn’t too long, and it can hold the attention of readers. Since this book is mainly for kids, I believe it will keep them hooked, and it could help as a bedtime story.
I found less than four errors in this book as the author took the time to make this a fun read. I didn’t dislike anything in this sequel, as the book focused on the theme.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. Despite the minor errors, this book is an excellent read for little minds and will help them build their vocabulary and imagination. I recommend this book to parents looking for books to keep their kids’ minds active.
