[Following is a volunteer review of "Hammer of the Gods" by RK Wheeler.]
I have read the book titled Hammer of the Gods written by R.K. Wheeler. This book takes a unique look at Norse, Greek, and Hebrew mythology. The book revolves around a young lady named Angelica, and her brother Jonah. They are descendants from a fallen archangel, and are thrust into a rollercoaster of an adventure. They end up being joined by some very notable names in mythology, such as Thor, Odin, and even Gabriel, one of the twelve archangels of creation. There are others who join them on their journey as well, such as a fairy, a dwarf, and a gnome! There is Satan who is working against them along with Loki, who has joined Satan's side. There are even Dragons!
When I read this book, I was surprised to notice how well it was edited. I found no editing errors at all. There were no typos, spelling errors, or even grammar mistakes. There were no swear words at all. The author was very good at using other words to get the point across without actually swearing. There were no explicit sexual scenes as well. The author was very good at mixing the different mythology's, and was very descriptive with his words.
I didn't find anything I disliked about the book. It kept my attention consistently with lots of plot twists and turns. With lots of characters that you just can't help but love or hate. The author also has poetry with different aspects that relate to the story. The author also quotes scriptures from both the bible and the Hebrew scriptures. Along with quoting the poetry from ancient times concerning the different mythology's. The author also gives detailed background on every character and race. The author even explains some things that the characters didn't know or has a character share memories of how things happened, so the other characters understand the past to help with their quest.
While I was reading this book, I had a very hard time putting it down! the author stuck to mythology very well along with adding his own twists in it. I give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 because of the excellent editing, excellent story line, along with the fact that how well the book was written shows how much research the author put into this work of art!
I recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy, mythology, science fiction, and over all just a good read! I couldn't put it down! I cant say enough good things about this book!
