Idiom Attack Vol. 1 Everyday Living (Trad. Chinese Edition) is a book by Peter N. Liptak, Matthew Douma, and Jay Douma for English as Second Language (ESL) readers of Chinese origins.

Languages are a way of life, so the need to master it is necessary. Native speakers have a chance of relating to the language from childhood, but what about foreigners? How will they cope when it's become necessary to master the language? Through tedious and continuous studying the language will be understood; however, some part of the language that comes naturally for native speakers will pull a wall for ESL. Do ESL give up based on this barrier? This book will come in handy for ESL to crush the barriers.

Peter et al are committed to ensuring English isn't an obstacle to Chinese. This is the tangible reason that made the authors produce this masterpiece. Years of teaching and lecturing leave them devoted to helping students at the forefront of an off-class method. This classic isn't applicable to ESL only, even native speakers of English will learn a lot from the teachings.  The phrase that means that they are singly are called idioms, they give our speeches or writings an artistic view which deems it necessary to be used.

I will push a 4 out of 4 for this book. The book isn't only a product of experienced teachers; it pulls through the rank of genius editor and proofreader.

Learning comes with hardship, most especially when it involves language: it is harder. With this anecdote, the authors have a lot to sieve off the reader's mind, compelling the readers to an easy read of understanding. This wasn't easy to be achieved, but they pulled in illustrations as examples for better understanding.

The books contain 300 idioms split into 25 thematic chapters. Each chapter ends with a comprehension illustrating the usage of the idioms, with questions pertaining to the question to test readers comprehension. After 5 chapters, there is a crossword also to reiterate what the reader has learnt. All in all, the authors are worried about their readers, so a simple and graphic step-by-step is made just to emphasise the more the usage of the idioms learnt.

ESL and Native speakers of English will ultimately find a lot of need in this book. Naturally, this book should be a diary for English Language Learners (ELLs), even a writer should make this book a must look every morning before many other things until he understands and has memorized the content.
