The Dark Web Murders, by Brian O'Hare, is the fourth installment of The Inspector Sheehan Mysteries, following Chief Inspector Jim Sheehan as he and his team strive to solve a case of ruthless killings. Sheehan and his detectives are informed about a murder taking place in the night, a judge brutally killed in his own home. Sheehan's team is stumped, going off little information and even less evidence to solve the case. What they don't know is that, under their computer screens, a wicked place called the Dark Web lurks, and on the Dark Web a blog describing the very murder they are trying to solve. As the murderer continues to strike, Sheehan and his crew uncover disturbing elements of their world while they try to track the unforgiving killer. A twist at every turn and a shock in each chapter, The Dark Web Murders captivates its readers in this twisted story.

I loved that the book was not just carelessly thrown together. O'Hare could have left out some of the minor details that other authors would have rendered useless, but he included the little things that made the story richer in detail and so much more driven. I got the sense and perspective of each side of the situation, saw it from numerous points of view that left my mind churning. O'Hare is brilliant and so are his characters, which I might add, are so well written and personalized. The detectives have such a good relationship with each other and the way they work, its amazing. Another thing I found fascinating about this writing were the blogs on the Dark Web. It was almost like a completely different person was writing the story, like there truly was a blogger with a twisted sense of self-justification that made the book so much better.

I'm trying to think, and I can't find one thing wrong with the book. O'Hare has done an amazing job, and I will be looking into his other books. 4 out of 4 stars for this work of art. Such a great novel. I have no doubt Brian O'Hare will be the next big mystery author. I have trouble believing he is not a renowned name in the field already. I can't bring myself to give the book less than 4 stars, there is truly no bad thing about it!

Fans of horror, mystery, thriller, and even sci-fi novels will be sure to love this book. It radiates that sense of disturbing, mysterious, and painstakingly realistic scenarios that have the reader on the edge of their seat with each turn of the page. I could tell the book was professionally edited with meticulous care. Readers of fantasy and romance novels will have no room in this arena. This book is all hard truth and does not waste time with over the top side love stories.

The book does take place in Northern Ireland, and the author is British, so words and phrases may be unfamiliar to American readers, but O'Hare includes a glossary to help with those things.
