Inca, Fromage, Cara, and Charlotte accompany their human Mom on a holiday in Sri Lanka. They find the island amazing and were excited about places they would visit, and other animals they would meet. However, in the midst of this exciting adventure, they discovered that a valuable old antique sword has been stolen from the main museum in Colombo. Inca picks interest in the case, and with the arrival of Solo (their neighbor, and world-renowned detective) alongside Terrace, his dog, she knew she would have first-hand information on the case. Inca soon recruits her new animal friends into “Inca & Company,” a detective agency she heads. Will these team of animals be able to unravel the mystery behind the disappearance of this sword, and help find the sword?

Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy cat by R.F. Kristi is the 7th standalone Children’s book in the Diary of a Snoopy Cat series, which is suitable for children aged 7-12 years. The story apparently revolves around Inca, her detective team, her new friends (the elephants, and turtle), Solo, and their human Mom. It was told from Inca’s perspective. The author’s writing style was simple and easy to read. Beautiful illustrations are portrayed in the text, and this helps the children recognize the characters, and learn certain features of the animal portrayed.

What I liked most about this book was the author's choice of characters. I loved the character of Inca. I was fascinated by her snoopy nature and her strong-willed power. Also, I liked how she reacted to certain situations with humor. For example, when Inca was offered a ride at the back of Mama Elephant, she was afraid and imagined funny scenarios in her head. This led her to ask questions like, “Will I be flattened like a pancake? Would I be crushed like a bug? Would Mama elephant sneeze and blow me all the way to China?” Despite these discouraging thoughts, she let go of her fears and focused on making history as the first cat in Paris and London who had ever taken a ride on an elephant.

In a bid to add action to the book and raise a curiosity in the reader's mind, Kristi added some incidents that do not contribute to the main flow of events. Such incidents like the python scene, encounter with a leopard, and her two cubs. However, readers will find it entertaining.

Serendipity Mystery was edited professionally, as I didn’t find any error. On the other hand, I disliked nothing about this book. Readers can learn good moral lessons like Leadership skills, the importance of teamwork, and forgiveness from this book. Consequently, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I would recommend this book to children, those who enjoy animations, and all animal lovers.
