What seemed like a relaxing and fun vacation turned into a new mystery case for Inca and her detective team to solve. Between days of lounging on the beach and exploring everything Sri Lanka has to offer, Inca and her team must find a way to find the missing artifacts that were stolen from the museum. With the help of their new animal friends in this lovely country, this case will be solved in no time!

The book was slow-paced at first, focusing more on their exploration of Sri Lanka and building new friendships. Considering the target audience of this book, there were a few parts that could have used more illustrations to hold the interest of the readers.

The author, R.F. Kristi, uses a good mix of simple and complex words that are appropriate for the understanding of young readers. It ensures clarity of the story to the readers, yet offers new words for them to learn along the way. It is a good book to use in enhancing a child’s vocabulary.

The characters are also fun to read. They all have unique personalities that blend well together when they work as a team. I especially enjoyed reading about Terrance because he’s so adorable. I recommend this to young readers and their parents who want their children to have compassion towards animals.

This book teaches its readers that it’s okay to be friends with new people, to be sensitive of other people’s feelings, that it’s good to be curious but listen to your friends when they warn you against doing something dangerous, and to never steal because that never ends well.

Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat is professionally edited. The characters, plot, and the writing is spectacular. Overall, I’m giving this book 4 out of 4 stars for the well-written and delightful adventure.
