[Following is a volunteer review of "The ultimate love" by Sherine Anniruth.]
Many people have lost someone special in their lives, and the void most times is hard to fill. The ultimate love by Sherine Anniruth is a non-fiction book that provides therapy on how to cope with the loss of someone in our lives. The author provides readers with a detailed explanation of how she deals with the loss of her son, Nadeem, who she lost to an illness. She systematically breaks down methods that readers should apply when they lose someone. Explaining that the grief you might experience should not weaken your spirit, rather it should be used to motivate you to live your life knowing that the person still lives on in your heart.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The reason I rated it four stars was because the author provided a helpful guide to set readers on a path to recovery from the loss of someone. Other reasons for my rating are also stated below.
The ultimate love was a fascinating book because there was an intense outburst of emotions by the author. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, as it felt like she was speaking directly to me. I have lost someone close to me, and I wish every day that I can see him one last time. Specific questions asked by the author opened my eyes to see that someone shared my thoughts. For instance, ”Why didn’t some other person, elderly or a terrorist, die in their place?” This made her feel guilty, however. The use of colorfully quoted pictures in this book made some explanations shared to be relatable. To show readers the amount of love and affection she had towards her son, she shared a picture of an altar she prepared to pray for him.
This is the first time I have seen an author write about the pain she felt. Information of this magnitude was definitely not easy to pen down. This makes it a very motivating and educative piece. Readers would feel her teardrops on the pages of this book. The mode of writing adopted by the author has the power to lift the spirit of someone going through the struggles of losing a loved one. I appreciate the effort put to motivate readers on strategies to begin their lives daily. This book gives readers a positive approach towards recovery while trying to heal. Some questions made me rethink the number of emotions I attached to the loss of my father, like “Do I want to find new meaning and joy in my life?”
There were less than 3 errors in this book. Although my reading was sluggish, it occurred because I was engulfed in the message the author tried to pass. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and there was nothing to dislike while reading. I would recommend this piece to people seeking emotional support because they lost a dear friend, sibling, or child.
