Inca is back again! In this instalment, an ordinary holiday turns into a treasure recovery mission. Also, a rescue mission results in a fearsome encounter. Grab your copy of Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat to know exactly how a simple holiday in the sun turned into a fully-fledged adventure.

Mom and the team were on holiday in Sri Lanka when they received news of a stolen antique sword from a museum in Colombo. This piece of information interested Inca a lot, but because it was all she knew about the case, she didn't get involved immediately. Meanwhile, Terrance, the only doggy detective on Inca's detective team, and his owner, Solo, were on their way to Sri Lanka. Solo had been invited to Sri Lanka to investigate the theft of the stolen artefacts. Nevertheless, upon the arrival of Terrance and his master, Inca and the detective team, alongside their new friends, Rani the turtle, and Meena the elephant, made a lot of progress on their case. However, Inca woke up one night to discover Fromage missing, so she set out to look for him. A few moments into the search, Inca encountered a long slithery creature that turned out to be a python. Will Inca outwit the snake? Will they be able to complete the mission? There's only one way to find out.

Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F. Kristi is the seventh book in the Inca Book series. Regardless of the fact that it is part of a nine-book series, it can be read as a stand-alone. It is filled with colourful illustrations and elaborate descriptions. The author's style of narration alone made it obvious that this book is meant for children.

Having previously read a book from the Inca Book series, I really appreciate the author for setting this book's plot in Sri Lanka. It will no doubt go a long way in informing the children of how diverse the world is. Furthermore, I liked this book because of the way it familiarises children with animals like leopards, turtles, and elephants. One thing that really struck me was the introduction of the python. The author did not try to portray it as a friendly animal, and that made the story a bit more realistic.

I rate Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat 4 out of 4 stars because it is entertaining and enlightening. It is also professionally edited as I didn't find any error in it. The only thing I didn't like about the book was the usage of words such as “slithering” and “enthralling.” I think that words such as these will not be readily understood by children. I didn't reduce my rating because the things I disliked about this book were not enough to significantly affect my rating.

Furthermore, this book is totally free from profanity and eroticism. Therefore, I recommend this book to children, particularly those who have an affinity for animals. Parents who want to familiarise their children with animals can also get a copy for them.

My favorite Siberian cat is here, Inca. The only problem is sometimes I find difficult words for children to digest in Kristi's works. Anyways, great job on the review Olabode!

I also enjoy this series and hope to read more of Inca's adventures. I am envious that these animals get to travel more than I do.

It's interesting that you mentioned the vocabulary. While I agree that the words you listed may be a bit advanced for the recommended age group, I think it's a good idea to give kids a bit of a challenge sometimes.

Thank you for your entertaining review!

Yeah, that's true, Josephe. How will they develop their vocabulary without these challenges? Good point. :D
