We are Voulhire: A New Series Under Great Skies is a science-fiction book by Matthew Tysz. one could also categorize it into fantasy. The story starts as our protagonist Galen Bray sets out to a magnificent and prosperous kingdom called
Voulhire to inherit his great uncle's forge after a life that has offered barely anything other than war and it's terrors. Galen starts loving this new bit of the world with each passing day but he also starts noticing that 'all that glitters is not gold'. He finds a few friends, one of them being his uncle's executor Rowan. And so our protagonist starts his new life trying to learn the new ways of this great kingdom and earn a humble being as a blacksmith.

We also meet other characters. Like king Wilhelm, a good king troubled by the chancellor of the Mianoran council 'Midius Maido'. We do get to see Maido's perspective of things as well, which at best does no good to the people he serves. We also get a peek into what the state of the Riva Rohavi, a terrorist organisation as old as the kingdom is, and what they are doing to rise. And last but most certainly not least Eldus Alderman, the newly appointed lord of the hillside town of hillport; who along with the king seem to be trying to hide dark secrets about the town's past from it's people.

This book does contain some instances of profanity. So, I would not recommend this book to people who cannot take an average amount of it. I also found a few typos and grammatical errors which could have been a printing mistake. But overall the book is very well written and professionally edited.

Personally, I haven't had a single dull moment while reading this book and enjoyed it greatly. But I would not consider it epic, but a minor step below that. Even with many different stories going on the author manages to make keeping track of it all simple. There has also been a good bit of humor which I have enjoyed. The book is dripping with mystery at every point and even the ending leaves the reader feeling as if the book ended right in the middle of a climax. I do not have any noteworthy flaws regarding this book. The characters have maintained their characters until the very end of the book as much as I know. And I have noticed no plot holes. Matthew Tysz has made a very complex story, even though this is only an introductory book, it was very hooking. Even in the midst of an amazing story filled with mages that order the magical universe of Caromentis, Bawlers that order our universe, and the common people, knights, and the terrorists Riva Rohavi the author has incorporated psychology and reality. The book is filled with as much reality as it is with fantasy. I would highly recommend this book to all those that like fantasy and psychology and don't mind a bit of heartbreak.

I liked every bit of this book and give it a 4 out of 4. Although I would take away 0.2 points from the rating if that were possible. one because of the few errors and secondly because I believe the best rating belongs to the best of the best. I do however believe that the coming series will unmistakably earn a full rating as we plunge deeper into the story.

This installment, although interesting and well-written, is but a base for the story to come. I'm currently on the 6th book, and I can tell you that you're in for one exciting ride!
You wrote a nice review.

Yes, I thought so. I've finished reading the second book and it's just as good. But there was so much bloodshed and some very violent scenes. But I hear the coming books get a bit brighter. I can't wait to check the next books out.

And Thank you (I mean it.)

The fantasy story focusing on a magnificent and rich city Voulhire seems quite entertaining to read. Thanks for your honest review.
