[Following is a volunteer review of "Winning the War on Cancer" by Sylvie Beljanski.]
According to statistics, the battle against cancer looks like a lost cause. This is due to the high death rates from the disease as documented by the American Cancer Society. However, all hope is not lost! Sylvie Beljanski believes that there is a way out, a natural and less expensive one too. Her father, Mirko Beljanski, was a brilliant research scientist who uncovered the anticancer properties of Pao Pereira, a tree found in the Amazon, and Rauwolfia vomitoria, which is gotten from the African root bark.
Winning the War on Cancer by Sylvie Beljanski is the tale of the discovery and suppression of this promising natural remedy for cancer by the "powers that be". Despite the undeniable evidence of its efficacy in the life of the former French president, François Mitterrand, many established and influential companies in the medical sector, fought to take it off the market due to its obvious powers, and the threat it poses to their conventional and expensive alternatives.
This work gives a different perspective on a disease whose negative impact has been enormous. I am drawn to this book by a personal tragedy. Having lost a dear one to this disease a few years ago despite the chemotherapy and radiation treatment, I think that any alternative that can prove successful should be given an opportunity and proper attention.
I love the way the author divided the book into clearly coordinated he sings such as chapters, bonus sections, appendices. These also include books, movies, and articles on the topic of the natural ways to treat cancer. I believe the cure for this dread has to be natural. The author's ability to explain her father's work brings hope to so many. Her father, Dr. Beljanski, a Ph.D. holder, was a Frenchman and one of the foremost green molecular biologists. This work also comes highly recommended by professionals and experts in the field who also believe in the remedy offered here.
I must confess that I like her approach to writing. Her combination of different writing styles worked very perfectly to bring out the beauty and message in the book. The book is easy to read and understand, even for laymen with no scientific background. And it is filled with lots of scientific facts and touching tales of people helped by her father’s passion to find a natural cure for cancer. I also love her passion to bring to the limelight something that otherwise would have been lost to the cruel tactics of those who didn't want it published.
I love every bit of this book. The author began as a child, then transitioned into an adult seeking truth and justice for her beloved father. The sincerity of her story also got me feeling for her. Also, I didn't find any spelling or grammatical errors while reading this book. With all the aforementioned reasons, I, therefore, rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. And I would recommend it to all medical research personnel and everyone in search of a cure for cancer.
