Tom and his Native American friends are about to start a camping trip through the Olympic National Park in Washington, to visit his grandfather’s grave. However, an unexpected visit disrupts his plans: Sarah, a 13-year-old granddaughter he didn’t know he had shows up at his door needing refuge. Tom agrees to take her on the trip, and after a few adventurous days the adults start to realize... maybe Sarah has more to teach them than what they thought.

Strong Heart is an amazing book full of adventure and marvels, as well as history about the area, traditions and inspiration. It shows moral conflicts, developing friendships and incredible journeys, through time as well as through space. The book is well structured, with a captivating history and thrilling contents. It is historically accurate and illuminating to worldwide readers.

I give this book by Charlie Sheldon 4 out of 4 stars, because I found the story very entertaining and not lacking in any ways. The vocabulary is appropriate, and it is full of historically accurate facts well woven into the plot. The characters are very well written and humane, with understandable moral conflicts and motivations, so the reader can get attached to them.

This book would appeal to a number of different readers, due to the fact that it has historical data, magic and drama combined in the same story, as well as a touch of mystery. It is also easy and light to read, and exceptionally well edited.

What I liked most about the book was the plot, with its different narratives that give you a wider view of the story. And, most of all, the journey through time that gives us a glimpse of what the lives of the first natives where like and the way it was woven into the story. Every detail was very well connected.

However, I did not like that some parts of the story are not explained more thoroughly, though not essential to the plotline, it would have enriched the narrative and satisfied the curiosity that the readers can have.

That being said, I have thoroughly enjoyed the book and would gladly read a sequel, as the ending isn’t entirely closed, although that also makes the story somehow more special. It also leaves you pondering about the novel, and that is a feeling most book lovers greatly appreciate, when the book has touched your heart and mind.
