[Following is a volunteer review of "Fulfillment" by ICA.]
As the name implies, Fulfillment: A Journey Through a Spiritual Life is a religious book written by Ica, which not only makes an allusion to Jesus, but references other great men such as Buddha, Lao-Tzu, and Confucius. This is a book of about 301 pages which is divided into 11 parts, 44 chapters, accompanied by an epilogue.
In Fulfillment, Ica answers the uncertain questions of life; debates about our beginning, purpose, existence, and a lot more. All these were analyzed in an in-depth, howbeit, understandable, and relatable way. Similarly, the author systematically takes the reader through an illuminating spiritual expedition where he expresses his opinions on both basic and complicated issues.
"... even the question, why do we believe in that religion? If the answer "because we were born with that religion" comes to mind, that is not relevant. We must come to know the truth by ourselves, and that will be our truth." This statement reaffirmed in me that whatever religion we seek, personal conviction and faith is something we must possess.
I love the fact that Fulfillment was written in an explanatory way, such that each sentence is thought-provoking, thereby awakening a reader. While reading, I discovered that the author used both male and female pronouns like "She" and "He" to refer to God. I found this fascinating. In most books I read, I consciously look out for illustrations, stories, and figurative sentences, and I'm glad that the author employed these. Another thing that caught my interest was the stimulating quotes present in this book. Although streamlined to help understand the mystery of life, this quote can be utilized in other areas. "The more we know, the more we realize there is so much more to know and, in fact, that we know so little." Conversely, I could not pinpoint anything I disliked.
Even though the author highlighted his reservations about writing and speaking in English, this book was perfectly written and is void of errors. As such, it was professionally edited. As expected of a spiritual book, there was no instance of profanity or erotic scenes.
This book will appeal to persons that enjoy the subjects of spirituality and the complexity of human existence, and as such, I recommend it to them. Additionally, persons tackling the negatives of mental strain, fear, anxiety, sadness, and dissatisfaction will find this significantly helpful as this book proffers remedies.
Due to the educative and error-free nature of Fulfilment, I will rate it a 4 out of 4 stars.
