The Voulhirian Empire is a delight for every science-fiction lover. The book features Galen Bray, the main character of the story, who has immigrated to the prosperous kingdom of Voulhire. He is to inherit his uncle’s estate and business in the city of Magnum Caelum. His new home is far more advanced than the place he has left behind. The glorious city is ruled by a monarch, King Wilhelm Arcolo, who faces a threat from the clutches of his enemy. The opposition to the ruler poses a grave threat to his kingdom. In addition to this, another evil rises within his kingdom the people are afraid of. Little does Galen knows, the place he is falling in love with is in danger, and he is going to become a key piece in saving it and revealing certain secrets. What will be the fate of Voulhire? What turns will Galen’s life take?

We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is a phenomenal sci-fi by Matthew Tysz. I will recommend this book to fantasy lovers. Anyone above the age of 14 can read this book. The book is perfection in terms of genuinely creative imagination. It is the first book in the whole series, which consists of nine books in total. Maybe, this is the reason why things are a bit slow in this book. The book will introduce the readers to the kingdom of Voulhire and an exceptional variety of characters. There are two stories in the beginning that later on combine to form one. On the one hand, Galen is to obtain ownership over a new business in the city, and on the other hand, evil is brewing up to create nothing but chaos in the kingdom.

The book begins on a very gripping note. From the very first page, the book was captivating. It was a little slow at some parts, but on the whole, a fantastic creation by the author. The best thing is the characterization in the story. There is such a diversity of characters; the readers will come across characters with magical powers and mysteries, along-with rebels, peaceful residents, and nobles. The author has shown an admirable command over the entry and exit of characters in the story.

One thing I did not like is the extreme description of not so important things. I guess this is what makes the story slow at some points. Nonetheless, it does not harm the flow of the text. It is written clearly without the use of any intricate vocabulary.

The book is not like a finished story, but a prologue to something broad. And honestly, I am going to read what magic the author has done in the rest of the books. Some dialogues have a considerable amount of profanity used in them. There are no sexually obscene scenes. The book is well-edited. There are a few typos and errors, but nothing worth noticing.

On the whole, I will rate it a 4 out of 4 stars read. The concept created by the author is commendable. The characterization skills are equally praiseworthy as well. The high imagination of the author is evident from the very first line. The readers can easily imagine the setting of the story and how magnificent Voulhire is. I hope the readers will enjoy this beginning to a grand adventure as much as I did.

Hah... It's not like you finished a book but a prologue—that's cracked me up. Nice review anyway!
