2612 Cherryhill Lane was a book fit for the modern reader. With modern and popular references and the young, college-aged characters, it is hard to stop reading. Glenn Vo portrayed real problems in the world while also creating relatable characters that came alive on the pages. The description of each movement and flow of everyday life seems so natural. The dialogue is also written as it might have been spoken, making it easy to imagine the situation as you are reading and hearing the characters.

I would rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars because there were no perceived spelling mistakes, no profanity, and even when the characters were dating, it was family-friendly and edited exceptionally well. I didn't give this book 3 stars because I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the characters and watching their lives play out through ups and downs. I loved the way the author introduced each situation and explained each character's emotions, so you could tell what was happening on both sides of a conversation or situation. Being written in 3rd person omniscient, all the characters' feelings and thoughts are being told throughout the story. The reader can understand and empathize with each character.

The story starts with a young, high school student who just played in the state championship game. The story then speeds up to his college years and all his friends. Through his college years, he meets a girl that he falls in love with. Luckily, there is a good ending to this story when they dance together. This book would most likely appeal to young adults looking for a good romantic book. However, there is a lot of talk about how God encourages you and is your strength, so if you do not believe in God, this may not be the book for you. Although, you do not have to be a Christian to read this book, because there is mainly just talk about encouragement and forgiveness through the Bible.

My favorite part about 2612 Cherryhill Lane is the storyline. I appreciate how the author took everything the main character was going through and made it relatable to how ordinary people would handle things or feel about certain areas of their lives. My least favorite thing was how Glenn Vo used the names of the characters almost every time he mentioned them. For example, instead of saying "Jonathan's mother" he just said her name, "Rose". That is just my personal pet peeve, but it could have used a little more variation when talking about 1 person.

Overall, I appreciated this wonderful piece of writing and will buy this book and read it again. The characters, emotions, story, and spirituality were immaculate and inspiring. This book moved me to forgive people of anything they have done against me and to forgive myself. I love this book and would recommend it.
