Welcome to the world of Manasakd, mystical land of peace and tranquility, where the gifted are called. When its power summons you, you may get confused and disoriented on your first visit. However, over time you would get familiar with its beauty, with the help of your mentor and the other gifted mentees at Manasakd. Manasakd is a place where you will get to discover your gifts and your spirit animal. Manasakd is not a place of fear, you won’t be alone.

Manasakd, by Kelly May Andrews, tells a story of a fictional land where your imagination gets to run wild. Its main focus is on a girl named Tali, a legend in the land of Manasakd. The chapters are indicated by the names of the main characters, they do tell their stories from a first-person perspective.

There has always been a debate of who would be Talis’ mentor. Tali is a very powerful being that has been talked about even in history books. The first person Tali appears to would earn the privilege of being her mentor, and the perks that come with being her mentor. The more experienced mentees in the land all want to be her mentor. Which begs the question, who saw her first?

One thing I liked was the creativity of the author. Through her creativity, we were introduced to the different lands and powers that each mentee us within Manasakd. This includes the Mythics, Visionary, Storms, Healers, Intellects, and Empaths. Secondly, the use of descriptive words to describe the events, complexity of emotions, and the beautiful nature of Manasakd. There is some mild swearing, however, there is no sexual content.

Overall, I did enjoy reading this book. From the beginning, it drew me in. As far as the spelling is concerned, it was professionally done. I have decided to give the book 4 out of 4 stars. I would recommend Manasakd for young adults especially those who are fans of imagination, relatable characters, and mystery.
