Alibi Island by SLMN is an account of sexual predation, child molestation, cannibalism, physical assault of children and every horrific act of violence meted against children by narcissistic psychopaths. It foregrounds the selfish desires of the political class and other wealthy individuals from across the world. The vividness through which this story is told makes me to only recommend it to adults. Readers that are quite sceptical about gory scenes may want to avoid this book as well.

I found seven grammatical mistakes that could easily be flagged down by a professional editor and thus believe that this book should be run through another round of editing. It is unfortunate that I have to rate this book three out of four stars, however much I would have loved to give it a maximum rating. I found some segments of the plot poorly developed. In between the story line, the author's rush to get ahead of the characters ended up making some parts to be hurriedly concluded, for example the part where Passion, Sven and May-Joy were recaptured by Rosa and her accomplices. Providing a short description of what transpired thereafter killed my psyche and detracted my attention from the book by a great deal. I also personally found this book too short, especially for the subject matter of discussion and the settings in which events unfolded. I believe that the author should have spent more time in vividly describing the environment that the victims of sexual abuse were kept in, to enable me make mental notes of the smell, taste and even the tension the reigned in such places. However, these are my personal concerns, which may not relate with other readers. There is nothing else that I liked least about this book.

Macy vowed to die rather than endure the cruel treatments that the Enchanted Island provided. She reasoned that her peace would only be realized once she escaped the brutal sexual assault meted out to her by Lobo everytime he visited the island. Lainey, being the daughter of a Texas senator and coming from a wealthy family, led a secret social life, which provided her with an escape from the strict and supervised life that her parents wanted for her. She, therefore, blackmailed her father's bodyguard and made him to give in to her demands and let her out of their compound.

The originality of this book is outstandingly what I liked about it. I enjoyed the use of local dialect in the book, which made the characters appear realistic and very original. The artistic beauty of this foreign vocabulary also made the book universally relatable because characters from different parts of the world would speak in their individual accents, which distinguished their backgrounds and assisted the author in creating a utopian world.

I enjoyed the captivating dialogues that characters indulged themselves with in the book. Coupled with flashback, SLMN cleverly allowed each character to narrate the events that led to their capture. The author's use of dream motif in retelling Bimala's capture after her subsequent confrontations with aunt Chaaya is worth commending as well. The suspense in the book is also well-developed and kept me on the edge of my seat with every page that I turned. I am absolutely positive that if the author considers my recommendation in the next revision of this book, the feedback received from readers will be incredible.

I love books with heavy themes and it sounds like Alibi Island is quite terribly rich in those. I'm adding it to my Bookshelves right away. Thank you for the recommendation and the great review!

Thanks for your informative review. Looks like this book is not only a C/T/M/H novel, but it also addresses many sensitive topics. Definitely not for the faint of heart, I would say.

You must be really strong to consume all these in this book. I couldn't even go beyond your intro. Did you see the gore coming?

There are so many books written about sexual predation and child molestation that I liked you mentioned this book has outstanding originality. I'm not sure if I could stomach all those themes, but bravo to you for finishing and reviewing the book so thoroughly. Thanks for a great job!

Minus the violence meted against children, I could easily read this and enjoy it wholly. I do hope the perpetrators get caught or the children get some form of justice for what they endured. This is an amazing review! Thank you.
