Review by Njokime -- Soul Seeker by Kaylin McFarren
Soul Seeker is among the best horror-related books I have read. This book is about a demon named Crighton, who works for the devil. His task was to collect dark and malicious souls for Lucifer. The fallen angel preferred devouring the angel's souls since it gave him more strength, and it excited him. The devil fed on souls, and Crighton found himself on earth to complete this errand. Crighton loved his work because it entailed tormenting people in their everyday lives, and his joy came from human strife. Among the people, Crighton tortured was Benjamin Poe. His family had a secret that weighed heavily on them. It made it impossible for them to be happy. Gabriel, Benjamin's son, had an evil side to him, which made it easy for Crighton to find his way in this family.
I like how imaginative and descriptive this book is. The description of hell by Kaylin McFarren is very impressive. This book will get you thinking about intense things like heaven and hell. I also like the title of this book; it describes the book in just two words. I thought about how human beings have the power to choose and how the devil forsters negative attributes and exploits them for his purpose.
The action in this book is fascinating. Agony, depression, and loss can make someone have negative energy and turn to destructive behavior. The devil is always testing our loyalty every opportunity he gets, and he is happy when we self-destruct. The combination of angels and demons and how the author describes their difference is very imaginative and impressive. Soul Seeker is not your ordinary horror book. I recommend this book to all dark story lovers. This book has unexpected turns and twists, and it is where the phrase hell breaking loose is not a figure of speech. The description of Lucifer and the well of lost souls is horrendous, and that is what makes this book compelling.
There is nothing I did not like about this book, but there was one confusing thing, where the writer changes his story from Benjamin Poe to Crighton. At first, I thought that Benjamin Poe was the main character. That is what makes this book captivating.
The people who are sensitive about the existence of heaven and earth should steer clear of this book. I think Soul Seeker can make a splendid horror movie. I can attest to this since I have enjoyed reading it. I recommend this book to young adults and adults. This book is inappropriate for children since they might find it scary, and it has some erotic scenes. I award this book a rating of 3 out of 4 stars. The book has a few typo errors.
