A story blended with reality and mythology is always intriguing. That too the advent of scientists in the second part of the story adds to the icing on the cake. Soul Seeker penned by Kaylin Mcfarren is undeniably a page turner with suspense captivating the first part of the book and mythological fantasy covering second part of the book. The book is divided into two parts, where first part of the book stages real world focusing on Benjamin Poe and his family whereas second part of the book revolves around the devil Crighton which takes place in hell. The two parts of the book dwells with two complete different themes making the reader wonder if they are reading two different books.

In this story, Crighton is a devil from hell who seeks the soul of the wrongdoers. Benjamin Poe's son is twisted and does many sins which results in Crighton seeking his soul, but as a father Poe tries to safeguard his son but finally the devil traps him into killing his own son. Benjamin gets death sentence and kills himself in prison thus ending in the sinners well in hell. Crighton hunts for an angel's soul and gets trapped by scientists who do researches on aliens. Scientists are crooked and put both devil and angel in a cell and experiment on them. Crighton and the angel named Ariel escape from these scientists and they realize they are soulmates. Crighton is punished by Lucifer for not bringing the angel's soul to him. Crighton's love for Ariel makes him flee the hell with his mother. But they are chased by Lucifer's slaves. In this process of fleeing, he comes across many secrets which alters his life altogether. Will he marry his Angel? Can he win over Lucifer? These questions can only be revealed if you read the full story.

The writer uses her broader perspective to create her Characters. Crighton the devil, is the protagonist of the story having both evil and good in him. The angel in this story has kind characters along with bold characteristics. The scientists are crooked which makes them more evil than devils. The love story between devil and angel adds beauty to the story. There is so much inner reflections in this book about the good and bad. The writer has outscored her imagination of the hell with the tortures and the grotesque creatures with the inclusion of real Christian mythological characters like Lucifer and Lilith.

I loved the love story of Devil and Angel which was weaved in romantic manner. I liked the climax which was heart touching and totally unexpected. I liked the writers imaginative ability to recreate a hell in her work. Her keen skill in bringing good in bad and revealing the true nature of human characters. The books plot kept me completely engrossed. I couldn't find anything that I disliked about the book. The book has some profanity which makes it suitable for adults. This book would best suit fantasy and suspense lovers. There were very few errors and the book was professionally edited which makes me give it a four out of four rating.
