Nightlord Sunset tells a story about a man who gets turned into a creature similar to a vampire. Since this is unknown to him, he journals to inform us what it is like and the things he has to learn about it. Eric does not obtain much time to figure this out with Sasha, the person who converted him into a vampire type creature. They end up fighting together for their lives before he can figure this all out. Not only does Eric have to figure out what he is combating with but what place they came from. To begin with it looks like he went back in time. Next it looks like it is an unknown planet. Lastly, this place possesses various cultures. While he is fighting, he has to figure out cultures but tries to blend in. Garon Whited relates this story with an instructional view of what Eric sees and experiences.

The idea that is not even sure that he is a vampire or human and allows us to experience indecision is what I like the most about this book. Eric recounts how he becomes this creature and how he has to undertake things to keep alive. The Author makes sure that it is unique in all the characteristics to make up this creature. Concurrently, there is a parallel to what we know of a vampire.

The variety of characters with their numerous cultures tends to get tedious and muddled; this is what I disliked most about this book. Every time Eric encounters a new character and culture; it is another lesson for us. There are frequently lessons jammed into this book. Trying to follow all the information tends to be difficult to keep track of at times. It also gets to feel monotonous with going through more descriptions of new land and characters.

I will present this book with a rating of 3 out of 4 stars. The ending absolutely got me anticipating the upcoming book to see where Eric ends up. Want to see what time period he is at and what characters are there with him. It ends not fathoming what happens to him enjoying the last knowledge that he was going to be a dad. Do we follow to see the kid or does he have no encounters with the child? Does he still have to fight for his life? Does the dream of a school become a reality? Too many questions and no answers at this time.

The people I would recommend this book to would represent a person seeking for adventure mixed with Sci-fi. These reaches from young adults to adults. This includes romance and fighting included. With the way this is written it is neither gender would see too much romance or fighting. It is equal to a sprinkle of both. Eric is for the most part a character that you want to cheer on. Eric tries to examine this with morals and tries not to lose those morals. Wish I had more leisure time to really dive into this book more and saturate my mind with all the imagery.
