Review by The_Vivian -- We are Voulhire: The Flesh of th...
Following the attack by the Emperor of Lullabies in Soulhire, Galen has followed the powerful mage (Meldorath) to Caromentis (an imaginary world called flesh of the mind created by King Javikun) to convince him to help Voulhire. There he discovered that he needs to be wise and creative to live and find what he was looking for in Caromentis. Will Galen be successful? Back in Voulhire, the Emperor of Lullabies did not relent as he sends ambassadors to each city to convince them to give up and join hands with him. King Nartik is not submissive to the Emperor’s wish. Demetrius and Rowan team up with Midius Maido to train imminent Mages and Mianoran knights but stumble upon a threat. Will they overcome the threats? Will the ambassadors succeed in compelling the citizens of Voulhire? Find out as you read the last book in the We are Voulhire series.
We are Voulhire: The Flesh of the Mind is the sixth series in the We are Voulhire series by Matthew Tysz. It is a fantastic exhibition of epic fantasy novels. In this novel, all the characters were full of ambitions, and they made sure they lived up to it in their way. The author’s free flow of words and descriptive style was commendable. The story was told from each character’s point of view, and that made the story engaging. The narrative and vivid style was not confusing as it was well detailed even though the story was based on a multi-universe (the Cosmos world/earth and the Caromentis).
There is nothing to dislike about the book save for a few profane words. The novel was edited professionally, as I did not notice any grammatical errors or typos. The steady pace of the book was commendable, as the author gradually unveils his plot and captures the reader’s attention with well- structured suspense.
I love how the author developed the characters’ personalities. Galen has become a mature man who doesn’t need his friends to make decisions for him or protect him. He was well-informed even when he woke up in the mind of Mestitrio, and he was no longer scared but was brave and very courageous. The other characters have also developed, and this made the story more interesting. The book was suspense-filled, and the battle scenes were livid.
I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars for the reasons mentioned above as well as the plot. I would love to recommend this book to both young and mature readers who can relate to the characters, who loves adventure, schemes, and are ambitious.
