If you are a soul seeker, how far will you go to do your job? Will you deceive an innocent man for the sake of your job? What if an angel was thrown your way? Will you stay true to your nature as a demon and kill the angel? Or will you let the tiny voice of reason to persuade you and save her?

Soul Seeker by Kaylin McFarren is a 2-part story of a soul seeker from hell that knows only one job, to bring nasty souls and angels to Lucifer. The first part shows how Crighton, the soul seeker, will do his best to take an evil soul to hell. He is willing to do anything to finish the job. While the second part shows a clearer picture of what being a soul seeker involves. We will see Crighton as the number one soul seeker of Lucifer. We will see him fail and receive punishment. We will see him vulnerable and confused. We will see him fight and win. And as we follow the story of Crighton, secrets of long ago will be revealed that will force him to choose between what is expected from him and what he truly desires. And as he chooses one over the other, his world will become more chaotic.

I can not think of anything I dislike about the book. But I like many things. I like how the author brought the characters together. The dialogues between characters were so engaging you feel you were beside them. The transition between chapters was seamless that time flew by fast. At first, I thought Part 1 is just a glimpse of Crighton’s life, and it ends there. But the author effortlessly bridged Part 1 and Part 2 as she concludes the book. And what an ending. I also like that most of the characters were able to redeem themselves while still being true to their nature as an angel or as a demon.

In summary, I give Soul Seeker 4 out of 4 stars. I think the book was edited professionally. I only saw one minor grammatical error. The author was able to keep me inside the story. She was able to maintain the level of suspense that attracted me when I first read its description. McFarren was able to keep the mystery fresh and the surprises captivating. She was able to remind me of the innate goodness of every creature. Even an evil person will choose to do what is right for the people he cares about.

I recommend this book to readers that like paranormal, romance, and mystery books. But because of the sexual content, I discourage young readers from picking this up. Soul Seeker is a story about good and evil, angels and demons, and the balance these creatures bring to our world.
