I recently finished reading 'AMY: The first revelation' by Mario Karma. I did not enjoy reading this book much. It had basic psychological aspects mixed with horror which failed to scare me. According to me, this book did not live up the hype of psychological thriller as its genre. However, the book was exceptionally well edited.

I would like to rate this book 1 out of 4 stars. I feel this book can be skipped. If possible, I would have given 1.5 stars because some school/high school students or maybe someone with no knowledge of psychology might like this book and enjoy it. I didn't give this book 2 stars because I felt maybe the larger audience would be okay skipping this book. I didn't stop reading this book in between because I was expecting a clever end and I must say that the end was very thrilling and unexpected. However, I felt just the end was clever and the book overall was mediocre.

This book might not appeal audience with good/strong knowledge of psychology as it won't be much of an adventure. Younger audience, i.e. people from school/high school, teenagers, etc. might love this book for the thrill and new psychological experience.

This is a story of a girl called Amy with a very loving sister who is like her angel. Amy never misses a chance to protect and take care of the situations her sister, Melina is facing. However, things started going for a toss on the sisters' vacation back home with their parents. This book takes us through the journey of these two sisters.

The thing I liked most about this book are the quotes that are used at the beginning of the book and every chapter. They were in sync with the content of each chapter and had a very deep meaning which intrigued a reader like me. I thoroughly appreciate the author's choice of quotes used as well as the quotes written by the author himself.

The things I disliked most about this book are following -
(i) The book cover - I didn't like the picture of the girls on the cover. I couldn't relate the cover to the book/story, except that it represented sisters or two girls.
(ii) Low complexity of psychology - I felt the author could have picked up a higher level of complexity with respect to psychology. Even the horror aspects in the book didn't scare me much.
(iii) The book felt too stretched - The twists and the end where unexpected. However, it was predictable where the story is going while reading most of the parts. So, I felt a little touch of unpredictability would have made the book much better.
