[Following is a volunteer review of "Awakening" by Tayma Tameem.]
Have you ever imagined having a superpower, which can help you save the world or make you unique amongst the crowd? What happens when you lose your memory and wake up in a place you know nothing of? And to make the situation even better, you have a superpower that you don't know how to control. Awakening by Tayma Tameem is a book that will take you on a ride full of thrill and adventure.
Amara was born with Bikrir spirit, which gave the immense power that she has a tough time controlling. The ability to manipulate ice never came easy to her, making people distance themselves from our princess. In these dark moments, her sister Katja helps her control herself. The love and support from her sister help her overcome her sadness. Twenty-six years later, Amara finds herself in an unfamiliar place with no memory of her past. In the journey of discovering herself again, she comes to find out about her identity as the princess of Hale. And what shocks her to the core is the information about her sister, who now is known as Lady Snow, the evil queen who reigns over Hale. The questions crowd her mind, and she is off to an adventure of a lifetime. Will the secrets destroy her, or will she come out strong? Read this enthralling story to find out.
The story gripped my attention from the very start reason being its mysterious yet intriguing plot. The urge to know about the unknown in the story didn't let me put down the book once I started it. The story explores the bond between the siblings and very graciously glorifies the message that love conquers all. What I loved the most about the book was the bonding between the sisters. It reminded me how important siblings love is in one's life. The author has a way with words that leaves you smiling. The characters were so well portrayed that they made me wish they were real. I would love to read a sequel to this story.
I would very gladly give this book 4 out of 4 stars for the beautiful message; Love is the ultimate healer. I find nothing in the story to dislike. It is flawlessly edited, which is a bonus in itself. The book contains no abusive words or mature scenes, making it perfect for readers of young age. I prefer this book to readers who enjoy reading a story full of adventure and thrill. This story would not disappoint you.
