The Date Farm is the fourth of five books in Jack Winnick’s international thriller series. This adventure begins with a horrific attack on a mall in California. Dozens are killed and many more injured for unknown reasons by a group of terrorists, and Uri and Lara are called in to help find out who is behind the attack.

Before they’re able to solve the mystery, another attack of a different kind occurs in New York. Uri and Lara are called upon to help stop this terrorist action while it’s still in progress. However, this escapade eventually takes them to the other side of the world on an undercover mission to recover valuable United States property. Despite some close calls and betrayals, they are finally able to complete their mission.

I have read almost every book in this series, and this book was just as gripping as the others. I enjoy the way the author draws you into the drama of the story. I found myself needing to continue reading because I had to know what was going to happen next. I was especially glued to the page during the undercover mission portions, which are by far my favorite parts of these books.

I really enjoyed the segments when the agents had to use their training, common sense survival skills, and the things available around them to outsmart their captors. I liked watching them think through the situation, and I appreciated the practical, yet sometimes crazy, solutions they arrived at.

I can’t recall anything I specifically disliked while reading this book. It’s a well-written and well-edited book. I found less than a handful of grammatical errors while reading, which is wonderful since those errors can so often take away from the experience of being immersed in a book. I also feel that this book fits in with the rest of the books in the series nicely. I think it’s a great addition to the overall story of the Lara and Uri books.

I gladly give The Date Farm four out of four stars. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. And if the author continues to write books for this series, I’ll be sure to read those as well! I would recommend these books to anyone who enjoys international thrillers and spy novels. This book does understandably deal with disturbing topics, such as terrorism, martyrdom, assassination, and kidnapping, so I would suggest reserving this series for older audiences.

I’ve read the first book in the series and thought it was well done. Glad to see the same could be said for the other books!
