[Following is a volunteer review of "2612 Cherryhill Lane" by Glenn Vo.]
2612 Cherryhill Lane by Glenn Vo is a novel about tragedy and love. We follow Johnathan McCalister and the unfortunate accident that alters his life. After losing his sister in a car accident he finds himself alone, with his loved ones no longer by his side. He ends up with amputated legs and no longer holds a scholarship. The story revolves around Johnathan and his new secretary Samantha Reid and their journey to finding love and redemption. While this story is about romance, it also contains relationships with family. It includes faith and forgiveness and how both help one overcome misfortune.
I enjoyed the relationship between Johnathan and Samantha. Rather than having a slightly toxic relationship due to Johnathan's past, they were very good together. I feel as though they brought out the best in each other and that was enjoyable to read. I also quite enjoyed the belief in God and forgiveness this book contained. It defiantly struck me as an inspirational book with heart and soul. Overall, it was such a touching and heartfelt novel I wouldn't mind re-reading.
While in most books I do pick out many things I dislike, this was one of those where I enjoyed every part. I honestly don't think I disliked any part of this novel. I loved everything, from the relationships to the redemption. The love and forgiveness in this book forced me to continue reading. I do have to say that I am extremely happy to have come across this book. I'm glad I gave it a chance.
I give this book 4 out of 4 stars simply because it wouldn't be fair for me to rate it anything less. This novel was more than interesting enough for me to never want to put it down. I feel as though this is a story many would have a hard time putting down as well. Due to finding every aspect of this book enjoyable, I can't give it anything less than a perfect rating.
This novel is one with faith, belief, love, and forgiveness. The genre is Romance and Young adult fiction. I do believe this to be a novel open for everyone to read. Although, it does include belief in God so I would mainly recommend this book to those who have at least some sort of faith in God. But, even if you don't, it wouldn't hurt to give this beautiful story a try!
