We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is a work of fiction by Matthew Tysz, and it is the first installment in the We are Voulhire series. The book introduces us to the history, culture, and geographical setting of Voulhire. The main character in the book is Galen Bray who yearns for freedom from the perpetual war-torn life he had been experiencing in the Lands of the Princes.

Many years of Galen Bray's life in the Lands of the Princes had been full of such experiences of ceaseless warring and starvation. However, he had waited patiently for a change. But the situation in the land seems to remain the normal way of life for him and other citizens who were victims of the tormenting experiences. Luckily for Galen Bray, he received a call-up letter from Voulhire which asked him to take over his deceased uncle's steel-forging business in Voulhire. Galen Bray made no hesitation to begin his voyage to Voulhire, because the call actually met his need to flee the Lands of the Princes. Voulhire is considered prosperous, and the people often celebrate the country and the king (Wilhelm) who was believed to be the personality behind the country's success of prosperity. No wonder many do rush into Voulhire for the hope of a better life. However, the so-much-cherished Voulhire is the target of some agitating enemies - some of which have enhanced their magical power from the magic world, Caromentis. Such are Meldorath and Siden. Hence, trouble can not be far from Voulhire.

Therefore, what would be the fate of King Wilhelm in keeping Voulhire safe amidst the powerful antagonists? As for Galen Bray, to what extent is he going to find the peace and satisfaction for which he had rushed into Voulhire on receiving the call into his brother's business?

There is a lot to enjoy in this great fantasy novel, and I commend the author for the insight and effort he had put in place to have come up with the characters and places featured in the book. The glossary of terms and the map that shows the geographical setting of Voulhire made me really doubt if the story is a mere work of fiction. I really enjoyed the book's storyline. I'm always fascinated by books that contain paranormal ideas, and the book's plot contains such; precisely, I was fascinated by the roles played by Beth, Meldorath, and Siden. Especially, those actions performed by Meldorath and Siden in the fighting scenes made me like the book filmed.

Furthermore, there's nothing I could dislike about the book, the author's writing style made the book relatable, and it was professionally edited as I could find only one error. Hence, I would like to give We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies a rating of 4 out of 4 stars.

The fantasy book lovers and those who love action scenes may try the book.

I'm glad you enjoyed this one so much. His writing style isn't to my taste. Your review was interesting, though. Thanks.

This sounds like an intriguing book. However, I don't really want to get into a series right now. Thanks for your wonderful review!
