We are Voulhire: A new arrival under great skies, written by Matthew Tysz introduces the world of Voulhire. Galen was born in the lands of princes. This island was suffering from war and it was not a normal thing for a foreigner to come here. Galen was also suffering on this land but one day his life changed completely. He was discovered by the group of people appointed by his great uncle. His great uncle was a blacksmith in Magnum Caelum. Magnum Caelum was situated in Voulhire. The beginning of this book tells us that it is not a very famous place in Voulhire but it was surely beautiful. Galen discovered that his great uncle has left all his possessions for him. He even sold all his clothes and bought new clothes so that they can fit Galen. Galen was welcomed by the mayor and the mayor helped Galen to discover his inheritance. Galen was very grateful to everyone. The cause behind the situation of Galen’s island is also described at the beginning of the book. He met the man as well who discovered him and he came to know about some facts about his great uncle. Everything was different here for Galen. There were underground rivers and people were hardworking and funny. There were no wars and he can become a blacksmith. In the lands of princes, it was not an easy thing for someone to be a blacksmith due to the demand for weapons for the war. The blacksmiths were given protection in the lands of princes. As the story progressed Galen discovered a letter and a sword.

There is another story that revolves around the king of Voulhire. The king in this story is a good man and he is respected and loved by his people. The king values his solitude. Voulhire was flourishing under his reign and the introductory part of the book tells us about a major function that is taking place. Everyone is dancing and singing in joy. King also enjoyed his food at the function. But at this function, his problems were revealed as the king was struggling with Midius Maido who was the head of the Mianoran council. They had problems with each other because according to the law of the state head of the Mianoran council can approve or deny the heir appointed by the king. Apart from this, the king faced a major problem with a magician.

The thing which I liked most about this book was the introduction of characters. The author has given enough time for the development of characters and they are introduced properly. The story of Galen and the king are told properly and readers will not feel confused while reading this book. The king was not cruel in the story which made this book more interesting as in common stories it is always the king who is responsible for the wars. While reading this book you develop a soft corner for the king. The character of Galen is also very relatable because of his behavior.

There is nothing to dislike about this book as this book is very interesting and the readers will surely enjoy this book.

I will give four out of four stars to this book as this book is professionally edited. Its well-written and descriptive language used by the author enables us to create pictures of characters in our minds. The author has described major characters and locations in a very detailed manner.

I would recommend this book to any person who is interested in reading about kings and magic. This book welcomes you to a whole new world.
