Maybe it wasn't written through Wayne's perspective because he was very secretive and chaotic. The revelations had a lot of impact because Philip himself was in the dark about many things. Wayne, on the other hand knew what was going on. It probably wouldn't have been as interesting if the reader knew what was going on early in the story.

I like the inclusion of diverse characters in a story.
I also like that it's realistic and relevant to our current situations.

This mystery/thriller book sounds interesting. I like stories that alternate between the past and the present. This style of storytelling helps make the characters more compelling and the plot more deep.
