[Following is a volunteer review of "The Devil Pulls the Strings" by J. W. Zarek.]
The Devil Pulls the Strings is what I would say, pure magical, and full of fantasies, which was enjoyable for me. It told the story of a young man, named Boone Daniels, who was asked to fulfill a dying friend's wish to take his place in a gig concert in New York. As soon as he arrived in NY, everything started to turn upside down as he encountered magical dimension and was in pursue for a sheet of music, that was apparently able to summon the Devil.
I really love the way this author,J.W. Zarek, wrote his story, and the build up of the storylines was very consistent, and was packed with action, which was something I looked forward to when I first started read this book.
I liked the main character,Boone Daniels a lot and his side kick, Miss Sapphire Anjou. They complimented each other in this action packed adventure, and the cynical, yet witty banter between them was enjoyable, and that made me felt like I wanted to be a part of the team.
There was nothing I dislike about this book. This was due to the factor that the author wrote the plots so well, and the chapters were progressing smoothly. The fact that this was of fantasy genre,I was still able to enjoy it immensely, the usage of magical-like phrases was something I really admired, and the input and knowledge about mystical creatures that I got from this was worth the reading.
I would gave this a 4 out of 4 stars rating due to the attention span I managed to spend on it. I would recommend this to anyone who prefers fantasies, magic, mythical creatures as part of the characters, and actions.
