Midwinter Turns to Spring by Maria Veloso is a romance fictional genre .It is a story about love found, love lost and love rekindled. Set in Mendocino, it is a love story about Alfonso Madrigal who met and fell in love with Savannah Curtis at first sight during an art lecture which he attended .Alfonso, although married with a child has never been in love till he met Savannah. Savannah on the hand felt the same way towards him which was seen in the journal she kept of their love affair. Savannah whose father left when she was young never really got over it hence she had to leave Alfonso and run away so as not to break him and his family. This made Alfonso question whether she ever truly loved him but all these where answered twenty six years later when Alfonso discovered Savannah in a hospital bed with amnesia as a result of an accident. Hence it begs the question "will love make Savannah recognize Alfonso and will Alfonso get the answer he has been waiting for?"

What I loved most about this book is the deep love that existed between Alfonso and Savannah.it is the kind of love that is so real and genuine that it is almost too good to believe but it was there. It also gave me an insight into the world of art like picasso drawings .I loved how love was expressed through music and hence I commend the author for taking her time in composing a soundtrack for the book though I wasn't able to listen to it.

Although there was constant flashbacks all through the story it was pretty easy to understand and follow up therefore I found nothing to dislike in this book.

The editing of the book was superbly done as I couldn't spot any errors while reading it and the language and writing style used by the author was so easy to understand. I therefore rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

I highly recommend this book to people who love romance novels and lovers of music.
