Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies

[Following is a volunteer review of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies" by Matthew Tysz.]
The Lands of the Princes are under an endless war for years. Exhausted with the starvation and the misery of his war-torn land, a young boy named Galen Bray migrates to Voulhire, with high hopes of a new and prosperous life. Meanwhile, a kind-hearted judge, Eldus Alderman, assumes duties as the lord of Hillport, a city in Voulhire. This has brought great solace to the Hillport people, who have been suffering badly from the cruelty of a powerful dark mage, named Meldorath. Simultaneously, a rebellion group called Riva Rohavi is planning to attack Hillport.
Thus flows the plot of the book, We are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies. This is the first installment of the sci-fi and fantasy series, We are Voulhire by Matthew Tysz and it is woven around a mythical empire, named Voulhire, where the human world and the magic world are intertwined.
There are several aspects that I admire about the book and the way of arousing curiosity is above them all. For instance, the king has already declared the death of Meldorath, but since his dead body has not been found, some still doubt his death. However, a few days after Eldus' arrival at the Hillport castle, he experiences some strange things around it. Do they have any connection with Meldorath's power? Could Meldorath be still alive, as the people fear? Is Eldus ready for a sudden attack? Will Galen receive the peace he seeks at Voulhire? When the plot reached its climax, I found myself filled with eagerness to find answers to those questions.
Further, there is good coordination among the storylines. Galen's attempts to start a new life, Eldus' commitment to uplift the lives of the Hillport people, Riva Rohavi's plans to ruin the king's rule, king Wilhelm's efforts to restore the peace in the country, are some examples of its major events and they all have been precisely combined as the story comes to its tail end.
Also, I was intrigued by its language, because it is lively, easy to comprehend, and highly capable of illustrating mind pictures. Sometimes it arouses humour, as well. Moreover, the book is professionally edited, as I did not notice a single grammatical error.
As a whole, there was no single aspect for me to complain about. Therefore, my overall rating for the book is 4 out of 4 stars and I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves sci-fi and fantasy series, especially the ones with magical involvement.
