Review of Everyone Needs a Companion

[Following is a volunteer review of "Everyone Needs a Companion" by Jerry A Greenberg.]
Everyone Needs a Companion by Jerry. A. Greenberg is a book that talks about loss. The loss of a loved one and the day-to-day struggle that follows the death.
Ben Follensbey, a seventy-year-old insurance agent, lost his wife of thirty-five years to an incurable pancreatic cancer. After his wife died and a forty-year career as an insurance agent, he retired, sold their house, and moved into an apartment.
However, five years after her passing, he began to feel lonely, and he became disengaged from life and unable to let go of the past. He met an eight-year-old girl called Shirley whose maturity and insight made him realize he had a problem, and it was loneliness. This discovery made him decide to find a companion. His daughter Sydney introduced him to a successful, intelligent, and beautiful woman his age called Harriet. But since he met Harriet, would he be able to let go of his past and live a purposeful life? Will he be able to find the companionship he deeply craves and be happy?
Death is inevitable, and the loss of a loved one is a painful experience. People deal with loss differently. Grief can trigger many unexpected emotions in a person. The author portrays how important it is to acknowledge your pain and seek help from family and friends in this book.
Furthermore, what I liked most in this book was the author's engaging style of writing. It is fast-paced. I quickly flipped from page to page, wanting more. His narration of events was easy to follow and understand. His write-up evoked emotions in me. There were certain parts of the story that reminded me of my late grandpa. He too lost his wife, who was my late grandmother, in his seventies, and though he never remarried, he experienced the same loneliness the protagonist did. So, on a personal level, this story resonates with me.
All in all, there's nothing I disliked about the book, although I did find a chapter of the book where he imagined himself going for a companionship interview a bit lengthy. Other than that, I think the book is well-written, and readers will learn a lot from it. Therefore, I give Everyone Needs a Companion a perfect rating of 4 out of 4 stars. I didn't rate it lower because it is inspiring. In addition, the book was exceptionally edited, without any grammatical errors.
