The Drug-Free Sleep Solution: The Four-Week Program for Overcoming Insomnia Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy by David Durocher is a small guide to help us cure insomnia without using any drugs.

The book starts with some information about different types of insomnia: primary and secondary or comorbid insomnia and the effects of sleep deprivation on our body. It continues with a step-by-step explication of the CBT-I techniques in a very friendly and easy approachable style.

The author provides a brief explanation of how to use his guide as well as some information about the key factors that may lead to insomnia. His book also offers us some topics that can help us reduce our stress levels throughout the day. The Drug-Free Sleep Solution: The Four-Week Program for Overcoming Insomnia Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is indeed a plus in our society, since stress is one of the most life-threatening illnesses of our century.

For me it was a very quick read, the book offered really interesting solutions for almost all types of sleep problems. I really enjoyed the author's style, he writes in a clear and comprehensible way and the techniques are easy to apply in your daily life.

Even though I've discovered two editorial mistakes, there are too insignificant to consider them some important negative aspects of this book.

I rate The Drug-Free Sleep Solution: The Four-Week Program for Overcoming Insomnia Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy 4 out of 4 stars. In my opinion, it’s a very useful book, that we all need in our personal library, because let’s be honest here, who doesn't suffer from some type of insomnia these days.

It's a known fact that we sleep less than our predecessors. We are in a society that never sleeps and where the level of stress is higher than it ever was, so I recommend this book to everybody. I really believe that all adults and teenagers that have some sort of sleeping problems or just want to have a healthier way of living should read this book at least once.

We're all trying to figure out the easiest way to solve our problems, but maybe we should step back and reconsider. Not always the fastest method is also the best one for our mental and physical body and sometimes we should look for the right answer elsewhere. The Drug-Free Sleep Solution: The Four-Week Program for Overcoming Insomnia Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is offering us a much healthier alternative to an already very intoxicating lifestyle.
