[Following is a volunteer review of "Idiom Attack Vol. 1 Everyday Living (French Edition)" by Peter Liptak.]
The book, Idiom Attack Vol. 1 Everyday Living by Peter Nicholas Liptak, Matthew Douma, and Jay Douma changed my life. I read through the book in a single sitting; that's how interesting it was. The language is beautiful yet simple, and the approach is very modern and interesting.
This special edition consists of 300 idioms, and the writers put their best efforts to help the reader learn these idioms. I loved the techniques that have been put into work to yield complete results. They have employed a 3-steps training process intending to tame these idioms and make them our own. The learner gets to learn the phrases and is provided with lots of practice to use them. This practice comprises a fill-in-the-blank exercise and a story reading exercise.
The book is bilingual, as mentioned on the cover, helping both English and French readers. The book is written up in short and crisp chapters; this makes it easier to read. A reader can also navigate through the book at their own pace with the assistance of the index. Idioms make up an integral part of any language, indeed, and that has been worked upon to a pretty great deal.
I am rating the book with 4 stars out of 4 stars. The best part of the book is the answer section at the back, which proved as a great help to me as a learner. I would recommend the book for readers and learners of all age groups. The book focuses on French readers and learners, who may be interested in learning English better; but, the English readers can also make good use of this book as it is very catchy and helpful.
When one reads through the book, one can realise how much dedication and hard work has been put into the learning process and the emphasis that has been applied on the importance and usage of idioms. This book is a must-read book for all language enthusiasts. I am sure that nobody would be disappointed with this book.
