Review of Key to Eternity
In Key to Eternity by Mallory M. O'Connor, Epiphany Mayall, a psychic empath and sometime detective, experiences a vision of an emaciated man with an outstretched hand holding a flower. The man is surrounded by two snakes, one of which appears to be trying to take the flower away from him. From previous experience and education, Epiphany recognizes the vision as being related to the legendary King Gilgamesh of Mesopotamia who went in search of the secret to immortality. In ancient mythology, the snake is a symbol of immortality.
As events begin to unfold, Epiphany finds herself once more on a mission working and traveling with Maro Gaido, a former FBI agent, now private investigator, who still works assignments from the FBI's art-crimes division. Putting their skills and knowledge together, they go in search of some ancient clay tablets related to King Gilgamesh. With additional help from friends and acquaintances, they travel from Miami, Florida around the world in search of these lost tablets of Mesopotamia. Following the 2003 invasion of Iraq by US troops, the Baghdad Museum was ransacked and destroyed. Many artifacts, including these ancient tablets ,were lost to scavengers and thieves.
Key to Eternity is an enjoyable read, which I found quite informative and interesting. The 2003 invasion by the US into Iraq actually happened. The Baghdad Museum was destroyed with many artifacts stolen. Will they find these tablets in time or will the tablets once again disappear? Find out for yourself when you read Key to Eternity by Mallory M. O'Connor. Overall, I believe O'Connor did a great job writing and editing this book as I followed along with their adventure as if I were right there looking on as an invisible spirit.
I discovered that Mallory O'Connor has a previous book, Epiphany's Gift, which I wish I had found to read prior to Key to Eternity: however, it did not detract from reading this book at all. There were a few errors and some sex involved, as well as a few bad words; however, nothing too detailed. I give this book 4 out of 4 stars, which I feel is well deserved. Errors were few and minor, the reading flowed well from chapter to chapter. At least one sex scene might cause some discomfort, but O'Connor quickly moves on to more acceptable events.
I would recommend this book for adults 18 years and older due to the sex and foul language; however, this occurred only a few times in the book. I would not recommend this to the younger generation due to the topic as well,
