A story that seemingly begins as a human's quest for soul redemption quickly turns into a two-part thriller about the soul redemption of an unlikely protagonist, a high-level demon by the name of Crighton. Part one of this roller-coaster like story line is a detailed account of two human souls that Crighton goes after, one deserving, one tricked into being so. Part two dives into the inner-workings of Hell, Crighton's place in the world, and him finding his soulmate. His soulmate, who happens to be something Lucifer despises. Can these two vastly different creatures survive in a world where they are destined to be together, even though the Master of Hell wants to keep them apart? And can Crighton, a demon raised to be hostile and aggressive, show the type of love, compassion, and care that a soulmate requires?

This book, Soul Seeker, by Kaylin McFarren has it all, human connection, Heaven, Hell, love stories, hardships, the list goes on. It keeps you reading from page one to the very end. This story has unexpected twists and lessons that can be applied to the real world. There is humor that will bring at least a smile to your face, if not a laugh and there is grief, sorrow, and fear, that will make you feel compassion for characters that you thought were beyond empathy. Each page holds a new bit of information that helps to piece the puzzle together that is Soul Seeker.

While being a thrilling and attention keeping story, there are parts of the book that could be viewed as unnecessary additions to an otherwise enthralling plot. Although these additions tie together at the end, they do cause some confusion throughout the reading of the book. There were times that caused wonder as to what certain parts had to do with the continuation of the plot and many times those additions would not change the book whatsoever if removed.

All in all this book could be rated at a score of 4 out of 4, excellent. Separate from the amazing story line and thrilling twists, there were no errors in grammar or spelling that could be found and it seems as though this was professionally edited.

The recommended audience for this book would be Young Adult – Adult. This book includes profanity, religious content, suicide, and erotic content that at times can definitely feel like being on the verge of sexual assault, which may be triggering for some audiences.
