The book, The Beginning of the End – It Starts is a fictional novel written by John K. Williamson. The story revolves around a sudden attack on the USA and how the American government and their team tackle it.

The story begins with an unexpected nuclear attack on America that causes mass death of the citizens and also the destruction of the American government. Only the President, Jim Thomas is survived among them. Now, it is his responsibility to rebuild the whole nation and safeguard the lives of the people alive. The other two main characters of the story are, Henry Haynes, a doctor and a war veteran, and Janay Williamson, a sheriff at Cook County Jail. All these people have a crucial role to play in this story. Do you want to know what they did you save their dooming nation? Are you wondering if they were successful? Well, you will have to read this book to get your answers.

The Beginning of the End – It Starts is the first book of the series. It is a fantastic apocalyptic thriller novel that has 328 pages divided into 70 chapters. The writing style of the author is beautiful. It is simple and eloquent which makes it easier to read. This book has many characters that have an intriguing role to play.

I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. The characters are amazing. One of my favorite characters is Henry. I liked every scene of Henry and Ms. Morris. Especially the scene where he goes to talk to her at the hospital about her condition despite knowing she is normal and has no issues. There are various other instances in the book that are heart-touching, like Janay’s past. I also liked her character. She is a strong and independent woman. I feel that the story was especially interesting when the investigation part started. I could hardly keep the book down. I appreciate president Jim’s decisiveness. The way he handles the situation is praiseworthy. Overall, I had a great time reading this book. It truly was fascinating and captivating.

There is nothing much that I disliked about this book. My only concern was how Spyder treated women. It seemed like he manhandled them just to hide his insecurities. Other than this, I had fun reading this book. This seems well-edited, as I did not find errors while reading. With that being said, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

I highly recommend this book to people who enjoy reading thrillers and apocalyptic stories. This contains profanity, obscenity, and violent scenes. It is not suitable for people who are sensitive to these subjects.

Sounds like an interesting thriller but I'd probably pass on reading it. I'm not sure I'd like to see an endless string of female characters "manhandled". Thank you for the informative review.

What a massive journey lay ahead of President Thomas. Re-building surely took a toll on him. Witnessing the horrible events that transpired also scarred him.

It's great that characters are well developed although the book seems to follow a multitold sory, a highroad of a huge catastrophy that people have to deal with. Great review!
