Review of Rediscovering the Wisdom of Human Nature
The Book "Rediscovering the Wisdom of Human Nature" written by Chet Shupe explains how law and institutions led the civilization of humans in a wrong way. This book gives a clear picture of how human beings are meant to live and also explains what people are losing because of the modern lifestyle.
This book is a compilation of information which is a evidence that the civilization of humans has drastically demolished the natural way of living. The author presents the fact that primitive people used to live in the moment. They did not care about the risks and challenges that will take place in the future. Because of following this kind of lifestyle, the primitives were interdependent which lead to the formation of the family without any procedures like marriage. But after a while because of the birth of language, people started to think of what might happen in the future. As a result, the people started to take care of the future than the present. Later this eventually led to other developments which will prevent people from dangers that will take place in the future. The result of all this is now existing in the form of law. The author states that the law suppresses people. This book also covers how the practice of marriage began and the impacts of language. Thus the book gives us a clear picture of how humans are supposed to live.
In this process of making a pleasant future, we forget the present moments. Some facts given in this book will startle the reader and helps to understand human evolution from a different perspective. The comparison of facts and beliefs of this modern period with the author's findings and facts gives the reader a clear understanding. The meaning of complex words used in this book is provided at the end which makes the reading process easier.
Any beginner who is just starting to know about the development of human beings can read this book. Chapters about language development and marriage were very interesting. I loved the format of the book. Every chapter gives a clear understanding of the concept. I enjoyed reading this book and this book also made some remarkable impacts on me.
In closing, I did not find anything negative about this book. Hence, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The book seemed to be exceptionally edited and I did not find any errors. Those who have an interest in understanding the evolution of human beings from a new perspective can read this book.
