My Living Will by John Trautwein foreword by Joe Girardi, is the story of a father whose perfect life scattered on the day when his son, Will took his own life. This is a grievous story written for inspiration and hope, recycling the sympathy into action. It is a real-life story, that revolves around the family of John and how they survive the shock of their first son’s death. His wife and sons struggled with him to get back on track at which they were with Will. They took Will’s light to move on into their own lives, to be happy and content.

John Trautwein is a former major league pitcher, perfect coach, son, speaker, father, who went into sudden depression about where his love lacked that made his son think about ending his own life. The suicide, smashed right at the face of society providing an insightful look into the pattern of depression, how and why youngster turns to end their lives. To reduce such incidences in other families, John started the WILL TO LIVE foundation to promote awareness and realization about suicidal thoughts of children and help their families to know how to ACT on finding such signs of depression.

Will Trautwein , the first son of John Trautwein, commits suicide while combating his thoughts, of which no one in the family was aware of. I would hold Will as an epitome of an active child with all the good moral attributes, a great sportsmanship spirit, and a fairly normal academic background. He also did dream of getting into a good college as a normal teenager usually dreams of. From an external view, his life was normal as every child has, but what these youngsters go through is out of our imaginations. Such social pressure is invisible but exists amongst us all and due to this, a fraction of population succumbs to life-ending processes.

WILL TO LIVE foundation is a successful foundation that works for spreading awareness of depression and suicides among youngsters. This organization is for the kids and through the kids, which emphasizes support, love, and trust among youngsters to share their feelings and emotions without being judged. With the motive of 'life teammates', this foundation has been growing and helping others to be aware of their child’s, student’s, relative’s emotions and signs of depression.

This book is about an emotional story, with a smooth flow in writing pattern which can make you feel the break of heart when someone you dearly love walks out of your life permanently. If, I Point to this story as the saddest story in a sympathetic way, it would be wrong, as it portrays the heaviest of melancholy yet lifting it with a hope of better tomorrow. This speech of writing will lift you emotionally by real examples of hope, trust, and love of GOD. What I like about the book was that the people kept their faith constant in GOD, even in the most negative phase of their emotions. There is nothing in the book that I could say I dislike. I would like to give 4 out of 4 stars , as this book is written perfectly without any mistake. This book is recommended for every reader and can perfectly go for the parents.
