Review of A Bloody Book
Poverty, drugs, domestic violence are some dangerous social issues children face nowadays. They have huge negative impacts towards the health, educational outcome, and personality development of children. Those social issues are powerful to transform an innocent little child to a dangerous murderer. A bloody book is the life story of such an innocent 13 years old boy, that has been transformed to a murderer due to the society. Max starts his story with the reading hell class, the stupid class in the college, which has the capacity only for fifteen students but already filled with thirty five students.
The author depicts the life of max, a thirteen years old boy that has only his mother and little sister. Max goes through some sorrowful incidents such as, the death of his father and afterwards mother leaves max and his sister alone. The impression of many teachers towards the reading hell class is not god. But one day the reading hell class becomes fortunate enough to have a teacher, who has the ability to understand them properly.
A Bloody Book is a pitiful, thriller fiction by Chris Bowen. The book contains number of curious incidents that contribute to catch the readers to engage with the plot. The author has attempted to discuss about poverty, drug addiction and domestic violence. Not only just those topics but also how those things influence on children. Of course author has done a marvelous job to discuss all these heavy and dull topics in a very simple manner, by creating the life story of max and the reading hell class. When I was reading this book, the feeling which has come to my mind was “superb”. The author has done such a good creation in this book. I have no doubt, readers who are ready to read this book will feel the same. With all these positive facts I have noticed only one negative thing in the book. In some paragraphs, author has used long sentences that may create a bit boring for readers. This was the only negative thing I noticed.
I enjoyed A bloody book a lot. I felt that, It was like watching a thriller movie when I was reading this. The plot and incidents are more powerful to create visuals in the minds of readers. Another special thing is that, the readers will feel a huge blast at the end. According to my point of view this is the most interesting thing in the book. I would like to appreciate again the way which author builds the plot since he has put a successful effort to describe the negative side of the society in a simple and more effective way.
I would like to rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I could find only two grammatical errors. And they do not contribute negatively, for the quality of the book heavily, and the book has been nicely edited. Since this conveys a valuable message for the society and this contains some sensitive incidents, I would like to recommend this book to the readers above 16 years old.
