George Six is a former pastor in the American Episcopal Church after serving for thirty years. In ...on your way home ...Do This he takes us through his long and illustrious life. While the early chapters divulge his earlier life before the seminary, the book chiefly focuses on his work in the church and society. As you read the book you learn that the author had been part, and parcel of the Episcopal church for three decades and had a big hand in the way it structured itself as it grew. In the process, you realize that you have been through different stages of time in the USA from the Great Depression to a country grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Being taken through rural America in the twentieth century up to Palisades, California in the early 2000s will be quite eye-opening. The importance of family, the author's parents, siblings, and later on wife and children seeps through. Loyalty, love, and selflessness are virtues that you come across in the book and are a definite positive.

George Six and his wife were both university graduates with good and secure jobs. They were able to give them up to enter into the church. That kind of dedication to serving God and the community for most of your life is something really noteworthy. The reader will be motivated to set his/her sights on a noble enterprise and follow it through, giving meaning to life as evidenced by the life and work of the author and his wife.

The novel however also has its drawbacks. The sentences are too long. Understanding is a bit of a hustle with things repeated and, a lot of errors in between. The written English language used while more common in the 1970s and 1980s is complicated for today's times. The author could have used simpler and modern English to endear himself with the reader.

I enjoyed reading this book and the virtues and principles espoused here I will work on applying them in my life. There are a lot of errors though in this work, particularly spelling and grammar. The archaic English used made it worse. I will give this book a rating of 3 out of 4.

If you enjoy religious work this will be definitely the book for you. Christians and those of upright moral convictions will also find validation in this work. Also, those who like non-fiction and biographies will find ...on your way home...Do This an interesting read.
