Joanne Winter a recently graduated medical practitioner, risk taker, daughter and a sister. Content about the new lease of life she is about to take and finally completing her medical degree. She is given an opportunity by Harvard University to turn theory into practical in order to bring about evidences to support her very own project. Leaving her no choice but to mingle with the very people she is set out to help. Introduced into a brand new world by her newly found friends and ventures into it to gain their trust and to identify with them. Knowing very well the dangers and consequences of drugs and that time wasted can never be regained, she had to finish her experiment in the stipulated time. In a blink of an eye she becomes their own.

I love that Joanne is family oriented; informing her family even about the weirdest and most difficult tasks she is about to take proves just how important her family is to her. Her determination to see her experiment being successful sees her defying all her knowledge on how dangerous the drugs were but takes them instead. Even though the street sweepers are not related by blood except for Sam and Charli they still maintain a strong bond and look out for each other meaning that they are good people despite their drug addictions. The characters in this book are out in the streets but they still respect and aknowledge the fact that every discipline needs a leader.

The ending is a cliffhanger making it frustrating as one still wants to indulge in the events that unfolds. Leaves one with numerous questions like what happens to the characters afterwards and how the main character's problem is solved.

This novel is relatable as it portrays life in the streets;its challenges, drawbacks and dangers. Street sweeper is an amazing story especially good for the curious reader whether young or old irregardless of the type of genre one likes who wants to know more about life and and the different circumstances different individuals face.

Street sweeper is a suspense driven novel that entails the journeys of a doctor doing the most difficult task; being actively involved in a dangerous experiment. Paul Drewitt outdone himself in this novel. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It is articulately written, well edited and alluring, who wouldn't love this book?
