Jerry presented to us Marnie Goldin, a girl with a dream of being an actress in the entertainment industry, from a supporting and average background. An erratic character, with huge confidence. Despite the lack of natural talent and favourable physical features, she a perfect example that talent is not all you need but hard work. Someone who loves to see the positive in everything and is a great motivator, though cannot seek and accept help.

And her four friends:
Lorraine Chartwell; a girl with polar opposite physical features of Marnie, from a not so supportive background with dreams of being a scriptwriter. She possesses great wisdom, but lacks confidence and has fragile mental health.
Leon Thatcher; a boy who has physical features, of a stereotypical writer also with exceptional talent.
Carter Sampson; A talented writer, who is indecisive about what he wants and unable to take seriously his goals in life.
Donnie Jake; a hopeful, talented guy with no backup from family, struggles to meet his dream of becoming an actor. He was very sensitive to the challenge he passed through and finally got his breakthrough at the brick of throwing in the towel.

Jerry also presents the difficulties they faced, both in conquering their weaknesses and self-doubt, as they journey toward achieving their common goals of being successful in their chosen area in the entertainment industry.

Truly in SURVIVING LIFE AS AN ACTOR, Jerry A. Greenberg told us a story, we don't get to know most times, which is the backstory of the actors we celebrate today, that behind their success today, lies years of struggle, disappointment, near success and eventually, some give up on the way. He presented to us the sad reality of what the entertainment industry like some industries in today's world is about, and at the same time tell the importance of embarking on that journey with persons, you can call family, which could be a wandering stranger or a group of optimistic friends.

The book was free from grammatical errors and was also well-edited. Though I sometimes found it difficult to follow the story due to the use of both narratives and present tenses in the storyline, not properly indicating the time skip and the use of few ambiguous words, which requires consulting the dictionary to properly understand the event the author is presenting.

But all the same a wonderful read and I thereby rate this book 3 out of 4 stars due to the above-mentioned reason.

I recommend this book to all the young people with big dreams, that seem impossible to achieve with their present situation. Just keep pushing.
